The reworking of the area (1998-2003), partly designed by architects Herzog & de Meuron, is a mix of courtyards, covered passageways, hanging gardens, office buildings and shops. On Theatinerstraße, the building is covered with metallic shutters decorated with openwork, and the 19C façade of the HypoVereinsbank has been subtly preserved at Kardinal-Faulhaber-Straße n^o10. Galerie Hypo Kunsthalle has regular exhibitions – not to be missed.
