A thousand years of Greek and Roman sculpture are gathered in this classical-style building by Klenze. Don’t miss the Apollo of Tenea (6C BC), one of the kouroi (large half-human, half-divine figures), the Barberini Faun (Hellenistic period), and the bas-relief by Mnesarete, a Roman copy of a Greek work. Also worthy of note are the Aegina Marbles, original sculptures from the pediment of the Temple of Aphaia in Aegina.
