This museum is the abode of the Gothic statuary of the cathedral and churches of Münster, a series of stained-glass windows and, above all, a stunning collection of altarpieces by the great Westphalian masters. Flemish influence is notable in the works of Tom Ring, who was a precursor of the still-life. Interesting portraits of Luther and his wife are by Lucas Cranach. Some 20C masterpieces round off this wide-ranging collection.
