The Nördlingen Giant Crater is a depression 25km in diameter left by the impact of a meteorite which deviated from its path between Mars and Jupiter some 1.5 million years ago. The museum, housed in a 15C barn, uses modern instructional aids to explain this extraordinary phenomenon to visitors.
