This museum deals with the prehistory of the Ries and the history of the town of Nördlingen. It also houses 19C and primitive German paintings. Note the panels of the old reredos from St George's Church, painted from 1462 to 1477 by F Herlin, a citizen of Nördlingen. The work, dedicated to St George, includes paintings with delightfully fresh colours. A diorama made up of pewter figures recounts the «Battle of Nördlingen» (1634).
