This Baroque palace (1698-1707) was modelled on Italian examples. The sumptuous Hall of Ancestors is at the centre of the Royal Apartments. On the south side are the apartments of the Margrave, and on the north those of his wife, with their richly decorated ceilings. Also be sure to see the Porcelain Collection. A Baroque church (1720-1723) is attached to the Margravine's apartments. Its interior is magnificently decorated, with ceiling murals representing the legend of the Holy Cross.
