Ratisbon
: Michelin's recommendations
Situated at the gateway to eastern Bavaria, Regensburg, once known as Ratisbon, is an open-air museum. Spared destruction during the Second World War, its old centre dates back to the 12C and 13C, the golden age of this town which traded commodities from the East. A Gothic cathedral and patrician houses with towers at every street corner add to the authentic medieval atmosphere of this attractive town, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2006.
