Ravensburg has remained an old Swabian town bristling with towers behind its rectangular perimeter wall, still well preserved. One enters under the vault of the Obertor, a gateway with stepped gables near the tower called the Mehlsack. At the end of the Marktstrasse is a block of old buildings comprising the Rathaus and the Blaserturm, a square clock tower with a polygonal coping.
