Rottweil : Michelin's recommendations

The charming fortified town of Rottweil is located between the Black Forest and the Swabian Jura. Founded in 1140 by Duke Konrad of the house of Zähring, it became an Imperial town in 1268. In the 15C, it allied with the Swiss confederation in an «everlasting league.» Its churches are marked by the Baroque style. Part of Württemburg since 1802, Rottweil has become a tourist centre. The spectacular Fools' Parade crowns its particularly lively carnival.
