This church was directly inspired by one in the Champagne region of France, with the ground plan in the form of a Greek cross. There are thus four apsidal chapels, between each pair of which two smaller, three-sided chapels have been interposed, giving the whole church the highly original form of a rose with 12 petals. The tympanum over the west porch shows the Virgin Enthroned, the Annunciation and the Adoration of the Magi. The church also houses a funerary monument to Metternich's canon.
