Tubingen : Michelin's recommendations

A lively student town, Tübingen has a rich history and an attractive medieval centre. Marked by a French military presence and long-standing twinning arrangements, the town has retained strong links with France through its university, reputed to be one of the best in Germany, and its Franco-German Cultural Institute. At the foot of the town, the River Neckar traces a gentle line of blue bordered by greenery. The delightful old town boasts half-timbered houses and steep narrow streets and is framed by two hills, the Schlossberg and the Österberg.
