This fishing village, now a historic monument, is located where the river Ryck flows into the Greifswald Bodden. The thatched-roof fishermen's houses, the idyllic port and the wooden bascule bridge constitute a unique ensemble. The bridge, based on a Dutch model, is a monument to technology and dates from 1887. Its central part can be raised with a manual winch.
