This fountain is made up of fifteen springs. Its hot salty water contains iron, as can be seen from the reddish deposits in the granite basin of the fountain. Roman women used this reddish powder to dye their hair and held it in high esteem. The octagonal Kochbrunnentempel dates from 1854.
