Also known as the Greek chapel, the Russian Orthodox church was built by Duke Adolf of Nassau between 1847 and 1855 for his wife Elizabeth who died at the tender age of 19. The edifice is easily recognizable with its five gilded cupolas. The elegant marble tomb was created by Emil Alexander Hopfgarden in imitation of the tomb of Queen Louis in the gardens of Berlin's Charlottenburg castle.
