With its formidable octagonal belltower, the parish church in the birthplace of Romantic painter Philipp Otto Rungeis is a must for visitors. Its austere exterior contrasts with its richly decorated interior. We travel back through time thanks to the wall paintings from the 15C and 16C and a danse macabre cycle painted around 1700 by Caspar Sigmund Köppe based on a woodcut by Hans Holbein the Younger.
