The painting gallery in the south wing of the Residence displays German and European art from the 14C to the 20C. Particularly interesting are the altar paintings by the Würzburg masters and the Franconian sculpture by Riemschneider. Dutch and Italian painters from the 16C to the 18C are well represented. The antiquities collection presents an interesting series of painted Greek vases.
