Ravensbrück National Memorial : Michelin's recommendations

Built in 1938 on the edge of the Schwedtsee lake, the camp at Ravensbrück rapidly became the largest concentration camp for women in the country: 132 000 women and children were sent there. 90 000 were exterminated. A museum, installed in the very cells where the prisoners were held, provides a realistic picture of the life and functioning of the camp. Next to it, the crematoria and the death corridor can be seen. A commemorative monument has been erected on the shore.
