Abbotsbury : Michelin's recommendations
This village is set at one end of the lagoon formed by Chesil Beach, a remarkable 13km-long shingle bank. Sights include the remains of a Benedictine abbey and a unique swannery with over 400 birds. Nearby are lush sub-tropical gardens, and atop a windswept hill the medieval St Catherine's Chapel.

Chesil Beach
GB - Abbotsbury
This shingle beach stretches for 13km and closes a lagoon, at the end of which stands the village of Abbotsbury. A swannery , founded here by monks in around 1390, continues to thrive in the mild climate, as do the lush subtropical gardens.
