Outside the old centre with its narrow streets, a remarkably exuberant building, the Coliseum Theatre (1904) has now been turned into the Ceredigion Museum. Exhibits illustrate regional history, with an emphasis on archeology, rural life, Welsh furniture and maritime life which was the hub around which this coastal town revolved.
