Assembly Rooms Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

These elegant rooms were built in 1769-1771 for the evening assemblies where people used to dance, play cards and drink tea. The decoration of the pale green-blue ballroom is concentrated towards the upper part of the room, at window level, and five magnificent crystal chandeliers hang from an elegant stuccoed ceiling. The Octogon was intended as a small cards room. The Tea Room has a luxurious interior with a splendid two-tiered screen of columns at the west end.
