Royal Crescent
: Michelin's recommendations
This famous symbol of classical architecture, incurved in the form of an arc, is lined with a terrace of 30 houses with monumental façades, the lines counterbalanced by 114 giant Ionic columns, from the first floor to the balustrade. This symbol of Bath, the major achievement of John Wood II, was built between 1767 and 1774. No 1 has been authentically restored, providing the setting for a magnificent collection of Chippendale, Sheraton and Hepplewhite furniture, 18C china and glassware.
