Cuisine British modern

Menu: (set menu only) £20/ £45

Stylish neighbourhood restaurant with black ash tables and a large wine wall. Seasonal modern cooking features British ingredients in intensely flavoured, stimulating combinations. Afternoon tea - on Saturdays - is done very well.

      Pros

We had the Sunday supper tasting menu and were delighted with every course. Broad beans in a goats cheese sauce was an excellent starter and the slow cooked lamb with seaweed mash was divine. They pride themselves on the origin and quality of their ingredients and this is complimented by the delicacy of touch and imaginative combination of ingredients. The cheeses were probably the best I've had in a restaurant - excellent quality and served at the perfect temperature. The best meal I've ever had in Birmingham and one of the best I've ever paid for.

      Cons

Not too crazy about music in restaurants but once the food was served I stopped being aware of it!
