These 6 hectares of charming gardens were first opened in 1832, and have stayed more or less true to J.C. Loudon's original design. Sure to capture your admiration are the exotic birds in the aviaries and the elegant 19C green-houses, one of which, ( Tropical House) grows pineapples, bananas, sugar cane and cocoa - due to the nearby location of the Bourneville factory. These gardens have been recently enriched by the addition of the National Bonsai Collection.
