That the English love boats is an established fact. It is not surprising to find a museum dedicated to this form of transport on the shores of one of England's largest lakes. The Windermere Steamboat Museum, on the banks of Lake Windermere (1 km north of Bowness by the shore road), has an excellent collection of steam, motor and sailing boats.
