Braunton : Michelin's recommendations

Braunton's medieval church, set in the older, prettier part of the village, boasts a solid Norman tower topped by a lead-covered spire. The church contains some interesting carving, including the bosses (projecting blocks) of its barrel-vaulted roof, a 13C font and 16C bench ends. Southwest of the village lies one of the few remaining examples of open-field cultivation in Britain, the Great Field.
