St Dunstan's Church : Michelin's recommendations

Founded at the end of the 11C by Lanfranc, this church welcomed Henry II in 1174 when he made penitence for his part in the murder of Thomas Becket. When Thomas More, Lord Chancellor of England, was decapitated in 1535, his daughter Margaret, wife of William Roper, took the head of his father, which now rests in the family cellar of the Ropers inside the church.
