Built on St Martin's Hill and considered to be the oldest parish church in England, it has an impressive Perpendicular style steeple. The brick used in the building of its walls is Roman. With its simple design, the church has romanesque baptismal fonts and a "lepers' window" 60 cm from the ground at the back of the nave.
