Priory : Michelin's recommendations

The priory is the largest medieval building (12C) in the Lake District. It escaped the destructions of the Dissolution by becoming a parish church. Its unusual tower is in fact made of two towers diagonally placed on top of each other. Inside, a fine Perpendicular style stained glass window and, above the choir misericords, a remarkable sculpted canopy dating back to 1620.
