Extremely knowledgable staff, clever entertaining food and always something a little different. We always go as a small friends and have always gone with the taster menu+wine This is now our restaurant of choice in the Cheltenham areafor grand dining but if we want to be a little less formal than the Champignon Sauvage It was highly rated by a chef friend who own and runs his own restaurant..
My only minus point is that the red wine chosen to go with the main course of the taster menu sometimes fails to live up to the wines before and after. It is a bit as if they feel they need to find something good from Portigal or Peru, when a reasonable Burgundy or a good Vacqueyras would suit betterin my view.

Well-appointed interior affords a clean environment of modern simplicity with classical comforts. Contemplative but relaxed atmosphere provides excellent environment for generally high quality dishes. Tasting menu confident though unambitious.
Location unremarkable, although interior appointment compensates more than adequately. Produce on one or two occasions has been below the standard one's encouraged to expect from the broader presentation and performance.
