To the east of the upper part of the Promenade are the Imperial Gardens, a dazzling splash of colour in the Summer and to the west are magnificent Regency houses. To the south is Montpellier Walk, whose mid-19C shopfronts are divided up by Grecian caryatids. The road terminates in the colonnade and dome of Montpellier Spa, now Lloyds Bank.
