Gloucester Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

The Roman fort of Glevum commanded the approaches to Wales at the lowest crossing point on the River Severn. The four gates of the medieval town, whose streets still meet at "The Cross", reflect the legionary fort's plan. Today, Gloucester is a modern administrative, commercial and industrial city. It is however dominated by its glorious cathedral and offers many traces of its 2 000-year history.
