The River and Rowing Museum (Mill Meadows) opened its doors in 1998 in a very pretty building partly made of shingle. It covers three subjects: the development of boating, from Greek triremes to modern competition boats; the flora and fauna of the Thames, which is a means of communication and leisure; and finally, the history of Henley-on-Thames and the Henley royal regattas, famous the world over.
