Hereford Cathedral Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

The cathedral (12C-14C) was largely financed by donations from pilgrims who came to see the tomb of St Thomas Cantilupe (bishop from 1275-1282). His tomb, without the effigy, stands in the left arm of the transept, where you will see Stanbury Chapel, which is representative of the Perpendicular Gothic style. The Chained Library (the books are shelved with their spines facing inward), are attached to the shelves by a metal chain) contains 1 400 books and more than 200 manuscripts.
