Blueprint of a royal romance

Blueprint of a royal romance

Rodolphe Ragu - 2011-04-15

For the British monarchy as well as for celebrity trackers the world over, this is most definitely the event of the early 21st century! Prince William of Wales, eldest son of HRH Prince Charles and Lady Diana, will wed Catherine Middleton, a young woman of the middle class, on 29 April at Westminster Abbey. The nuptials, marking a celebration for the crown and a public holiday for Her Majesty’s subjects, will be broadcast live to an estimated two billion viewers!

The story of William and Kate is the story of a romance that began very discreetly ten years ago in the Scottish town of St. Andrews, where both were studying art history. A beginning far removed from the event about to take place! And contrary to the various April Fool’s Day pranks that clogged the press, everything is going according to plan - Kate has even mastered the route that will take her from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey via the Mall, Whitehall and Big Ben.

After the wedding celebration and honeymoon, the newlyweds will quietly settle in their cottage on Anglesey, off the north-west coast of Wales, near the RAF base where William is stationed. Quietly, that is, until the time comes for the whole world to concern itself with a new ‘blessed event’ starring... the royals!
