  dishes without personality, one of them with evident mistakes. i had a 2012 Guide and it was a 1 star rest. now i know why they lost their star. unfortunately the next day i had a bad flu and couldn't try any other restaurant

  Pros

  Seriously good food for a central London restaurant. What really makes Gauthier special is its service; never did I feel so well looked after. The restaurant manager is the most precious and delicate host I have ever met in a restaurant.

  Unlike many Michelin star restaurants in London Gauthier is not afraid of creating dishes with bold flavours that pack a punch. We were there for a 7 course x-mas eve dinner and apart from the cheese dish all dishes were sublime. We particularly enjoyed the excellent lobster broth with langoustine tortellini, foie gras with chestnut and celeriac puree, veal with morel and the divine black truffle risotto. The flavour combinations were complex and worked on many levels. Compliments to the chef. A hidden gem in the heart of Soho.

  there is real craft at work here but nothing that over-complicates or detracts from the seasonal ingredients. Service perfectly judged and appropriate to our party. lunch menu excellent value.

  The wine taster menu is the best dining experience I have ever had. It's not cheap, but it is incredible - the food and wine were absolutely perfectly paired. The Black Truffle Risotto is also fantastic. I had the day off work, and went with my girlfriend for her birthday. we were there for 3 hours, eating and drinking our way through the wine taster menu. Fantastic!

  Room crammed and very, very noisy. Service under pressure, long waits, dirty plates took a long time to be removed. Cuisine standards also slipping, baguette was rubbery (probably absorbed dampness) and fish was not cooked correctly, hence unpleasant.

  Very good evening, we where in the first floor closed to the fire place with nice table rond table for 4! very good quality of food with a super professional service!

  If you don't know what to order I recommend you the tasting menu which is excellent and a very good value for money. It's a romantic place to have dinner (for couples)
