This bridge designed by Cubitt in 1899 has replaced a work from the 18C. The metal railway bridge from 1896 has a high parapet, decorated with coat of arms at either ends, recalls the prosperity of the railway over the last century. To the east a new footbridge called the millennium bridge allows you to walk directly to the Piazza of the Tate Gallery of Modern Art on the South bank.
