This old residential area encompasses many 18C and 19C squares and two institutions: the University of London and the British Museum. Nothing remains of the original houses from the Bloomsbury Square development undertaken in 1661, but you can follow in the footsteps of artists and writers who frequented the area from the end of the 18C to the beginning of the 20C.
