The gallery of 17C(19C portraits puts faces on some famous names, while, on the first floor, the Alfred Rubens art gallery exhibits a marvellous collection of ritual objects, including a Venetian arc of the covenant, a silver support intended to hold the torah, embroidered silk cloaks and fine receptacles sculpted on the continent, prayer books and marriage contracts painted on parchment.
