A classical portico built in 1760 following the designs of Robert Adam, opens on to the courtyard at the bottom of which is Admiralty House built at the start of the 18C. Here you will find the first Lord of the Admiralty. In the middle of the 18C one of them, the Earl of Sandwich invented the «sandwich» which allowed him to eat and not interrupt his game of cards.
