Cuisine Chinese

Carte £ 20/61

Well-run restaurant off a busy square. The narrow room features comfy booths, terracotta army replicas, Hong Kong skyline murals and celebrity-signed plates. Extensive menus offer authentic Cantonese dim sum; sea bass is a speciality.

We have eaten in plenty of Michelin * restaurants "Joel Robuchon 3 star Vegas, Le Gavroche London and Vila Joya 2 star Portugal to name but a few. I have never experienced such rude management & poor service in any restaurant as I was here. I was eating here on Saturday 19th January 2013 with my wife and son and have had an enjoyable meal here before. We had an early sitting, so the restaurant wasn't that full. Other tables were given hot towels at the start of their meal, we were not. No one noticed our drinks being empty. We had to wait for 15 minutes and then I had to asked for water. I wasn't served a beer I ordered, I ordered it again 1/2 hour later. We had rice with our main course, when my bowl was empty, I sat around waiting for 10 minutes while my dinner was going cold. eventually I had to ask for some more from our serving table. My wife had to ask for her green tea from the serving table, the waitress was going to pour it but was stopped after it was pointed out that the tea was cold. I asked for the bill and ordered a taxi. When my bill arrived I took it to the manager who was a bald headed chap (never got his name). I explained what had happened and said I felt the service was only worth £1.00... he gave it back to me with a frown on his face! I tried to explain why, but he wasn't interested. I asked if my taxi was there and he said that there was a taxi rank down the street. Now I was angry and told him I would wait at my table until my taxi arrived. Eventually it came and the manager refused to pass me my coat, passing it to a waiter who was stood behind me. On our journey back to our hotel, our taxi driver had a similar story about the same manager. I will make sure my friends and business partners are aware of my experience and will never go back to the restaurant again.
