Six spans make the knave of this Church the largest in Britain. The chancel is also formed of six spans. The rood screen is a unique piece of medieval sculpture. In the chancel the stalls and their canopies are incredibly well engraved. The misericords which date back to about 1500, are strikingly similar in style and in their humorous descriptions of medieval life to their more modern counterparts in Beverley and Ripon
