The Chinese Community of Manchester combined with that of Liverpool is the largest in England, excluding outside of London. The community has made the area around Faulkner Street its own, with decorations, frescoes and lively Chinese gardens, and the monumental (Imperial Chinese Archway). The Chinese art centre in Charlotte Street exhibits artworks, crafts and explains Chinese traditions.
