Monmouth Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

The town has retained its medieval street plan, but there are few remains of the castle where Henry V (1387-1422) was born. His statue sits in a recess of the handsome Georgian Shire Hall. Another local figure stands below him: the Honourable CS Rolls, co-founder of Rolls-Royce and aviation pioneer. The headquarters of the Royal Monmouthshire Engineers regiment, Great Castle House, is a splendid stone building from 1673.
