      Pros

We eat here regularly. We dislike pubs that claim to be 'gastro' but don't hit the mark. Broad Chare has always delivered. We love the selection of bar snacks and often have them to start. My husband adores the scotch eggs and I love the cauliflower fritters. They don't cater for children in the sense that there isn't a kids menu and colouring books but our children are always most welcome. It is a noisy jovial atmosphere so not recommended in the evening for a quiet romantic dinner. Broad Chare has an extensive wine and beer list showcasing locally brewed ales. The main courses include pub classics as well as whatever seafood treats come off the day boats at North Shields. There are also lighter offerings if you don't want anything heavy. My little boys love the monkfish cheeks and mini bar snack burger. We always have a lovely time eating here. It is affordable but excellent honest food.

      Cons

It can get noisy in the evening. This is to be expected considering it is a friendly pub restaurant. It has never bothered us.
