Cuisine Italian

Menu: £19 - Carte: £21/£39

Housed within a quayside warehouse, along with a theatre. Much of the produce is imported from Italy and the Italian chefs ensure authenticity. Cooking is simple and satisfying, with dishes from Abruzzo featuring heavily.

      Pros

We eat here a lot especially at lunchtime when it is great value. The staff are extremely friendly and children are welcome without being pandered to. The food is beautifully prepared Italian cuisine. Don't think this is an 'Italian' restaurant in the typical British sense. There aren't any potato skins, garlic bread with cheese or sloppy pasta. Having been fortunate enough to eat in Italy I can say this is the nearest thing Newcastle has to a genuine Italian eatery. Last time I ate there I had a grilled squid with chilli starter that was out of this world. A semi fredo with hot chocolate sauce also stood out.

      Cons

If you eat there at a certain time it can be crammed full of lawyers as it is just round the corner to the law courts. I suppose that isn't necessarily a bad thing! It depends whether or not you like lawyers.
