Oare : Michelin's recommendations

Lying at the end of a green valley only a few miles from the sea, this charming village owes its fame entirely to Lorna Doone (see above). The Doone family is said to have lived here, and it is in the restored 14C-15C church that Lorna married John Ridd. A path leads to Doone Valley (9km), which became famous with the publication of Blackmore's novel, Lorna Doone.
