Prideaux Place is an E-shaped granite house dating from 1592. It is set in gardens and parkland that were landscaped in the 18C and contain a Classical temple, obelisk and grotto. Many decorative features have survived inside the house, for example in the dining room (formerly the Great Hall), and the Gothic-style library and drawing room. There are also some fine portraits, Italian paintings, rare porcelain pieces and gilded carvings (Grenville Room).
