The Elizabethan poet Philip Sidney (1554-1586) occupied this manor (1346) that was enlarged in the Tudor, James I and neo-gothic styles. The interior is a similar mixture of styles. A fine Toy Museum contains 19C dolls, rocking horses, puppets and a Queen Anne doll.
