Cuisine British modern

Menu: £20/ £25 - Carte: £31/£44

Hugely characterful building with a modern lounge and decked courtyard; reputedly the oldest house in the city. Stone-faced walls, mullioned windows and an illuminated well feature. Interesting menus have modern touches and personal twists.

      Pros

Incredible flavours in the tasting menu, sauces have a bewildering & wonderous depth of flavour and refinement which compliments the main ingredient. The dessert was too rich for my not very sweet tooth but I could not fault the meal. The wine was matched superbly, the waiters were very knowledgeable, the timing was just right and the surroundings comforting. We started our meal at 7:30, finished around 10:00 and were nearly only people left... not because they were empty, they were fully booked, but rhey don't turn tables and they stagger booking times to make sure you get the service and can spend all night dining..

      Cons

I would have liked to sit down an hour later but because of the staggered timings, i was unable too
