Lleyn Peninsula
Lleyn Peninsula
: Michelin's recommendations
This peninsula, tucked deep in Wales, is a combination of superb beaches and a rugged mountain relief. This is illustrated by the strangely-shaped trio of hills named Tre'r Ceiri and the rugged height of bMynnyd Mawr, overlooking the pilgrims' island of Bardsey. Criccieth or the popular seaside resort of Pwllheli make excellent departure points to explore the region. On your travels, don't miss the Lloyd George Museum, located in the childhood home of this former statesman (1863-1945) at Llanystumdwy, or the lovely gardens of Plas-yn-Rhiw.
